it’s been a long while since i’ve written a wearable porcelain post, since i’ve been inspired by an artist who works in that most favourite and long-cherished medium. so when i first stumbled upon the new Etsy shop, By Loumi, last month, my heart nearly skipped a beat. based in France, designer Kahina Loumi's work is naturally romantic, sweetly charming, and stunning in its simplicity—the kind that takes your breath away. the combination of unglazed white porcelain + matte gold that characterizes her current collection is quite possibly perfection. individually handcrafted in her studio, each piece incorporates her experience as a visual artist and is its own timeless work of art.

wearable porcelain: blessbless
02 February 2012
i just discovered this recently launched Etsy shop and i couldn't resist featuring it in a new wearable porcelain post. Emily Douglas, the designer behind Portland-based blessbless, hand sculpts porcelain clay into delightfully-shaped earrings, which she offers in a series of soft and subtle glazes, ranging from natural oatmeal to mint green. the whole collection is irresistably sweet and light-hearted.

27 - more wearable porcelain: chequita nahar
22 June 2011
i recently stumbled upon this gorgeous collection of porcelain-based jewellery from Chequita Nahar (pinned by Kate Miss via the best time of the day) and was immediately delighted by the discovery of more wearable porcelain that bridges the divide between art, craft, & fashion. i love the subtle combination of delicate white porcelain with natural materials and textures, especially the oak and pine... it feels so down-to-earth and raw, but is also wonderfully pretty.
simply love.

19 - wearable porcelain
17 May 2011

having recently purchased a pair of these sweet little "How about Circles" porcleain earrings from Montreal designer Maboue (jeweler Soleil Flemming is truly a delight and even hand-delivered my package, adding brightness to another gloomy and rainy Montreal day - how wonderful is that?!), i was inspired to search for other wearable porcelain, an artform i have long admired. here's a round-up of a few of my favourite finds:
